Treeforms, works on canvas

It has always been impossible for me to consider a tree an inanimate object. From as early as I can remember, they have always been vivid personalities in my personal landscape, both active and at the same time mysteriously serene. In this series of paintings I explore this living quality of trees through varying degrees of abstraction and representation -- I'm interested not only in the "look and feel" of "tree" but also in what it could stand for -- as a symbol deeply rooted in the human imagination. Through the use of bold, inviting colors and spontaneous, straightforward line and form, I create lively re-imaginations of these green giants. I invite viewers to discover for themselves the wonderful inner connections these vibrant works contain.
